After trying to see Anna Lunoe since 2013 - we finally got a chance to see her HYPERHOUSE movement live this weekend in Vancouver (we've been playing city tag with her for years). It was worth the wait... we're still high off da show. Like to dance? This is the show you want to be at. Anna's energy is contagious and will keep you going all night long. What other show would you all of the sudden find yourself dancing next to TroyBoi in the crowd? EPIC.
We are big HYPERHOUSE fans - the artists she attracts, the energy of the music, it gets us going - Anna "consistently delivers up genre bending productions that transcend EDM cliches." Be it big names like What So Not and Nina Las Vegas or emerging artists like Ducky - her crüe is always on point. We love the support she shows for the artists she brings on tour with her - you can tell she really cares about the artists she works with. Plus how could you not love the bromance between her and Sleepy Tom?? Excited to see they are in the studio working on a follow-up banger to Pusher.
Check out her new video for her new single Radioactive. She's just an all around boss - DJ, vocalist, songwriter, producer and general badass.
Lastly when she's not on tour or in the studio - she's hosting a banging radio show on Apple Music Beats Radio 1 - curating the best HYPERHOUSE and attracting all the right artists.
Anna says it best herself:
“I'm your high-heel killer, I’m your midnight thriller, I'm your bass drum dealer – and I always deliver.”
ALL HAIL QUEEN ANNA! Keep killing it and breaking ground for girls in music!
Peace, Love & Ladywood,
One of our favourite local Canadian talents, Matt Hunter from Ntrl Anml, has recently gone solo to bring you an awesome remake of Coldplay’s Fix You with Craig Stickland supplying the vocals. This is the first to come off of Matt’s solo music project, Bronto. This is a pure reflection of how Matt’s life has changed and how his new priorities of early mornings, nature, and adventure has drawn him to sounds that more appropriately compliment this new landscape. We personally love the chill house vibe of the track and feel that it perfectly embodies what Matt is trying to get across.
Matt’s previous work for the Toronto duo Natural Animal include tracks like “Who You Are” and their popular remix of Young Empire’s “White Doves”. You can clearly see how this song is similar but different to his previous works as part of the duo. We wish the best to our homie Matt in his new venture and urge you to check it out! We also love the new artwork below.
Eat the Oh Wonder debut album on iTunes. I know all of you are hungry for the sloppy joes' these lunch lads are dishing out.
I would expect nothing less than a masterfully created video from the Chemical Brothers, and their latest music child lives up to all my expectations. Each tiny detail of this video keeps you fanatically engaged. You cannot avert your eyes despite the pendulum of emotions, some unwanted, you'll be feeling. Did you know these two aren't even brothers? They've been lying to us all this years... -R
