A happy place to live can be created anywhere you go, but I'd like to think home is where you spent your formative years. Where we grew up fills us with subconscious connections and innumerable memories. Home can be a dark cloud in our lives, while sometimes it's a place that warms our heart with a simple thought. Research shows that when patients start to develop Alzheimer's Disease they continually express a desire to go "home." It's the place they had their first kiss or learned to ride a bike. Whatever it is, imagine you got a postcard from home. What would it say...?
Mine would read something along the lines of this:
You still owe the Public Library hundreds of dollars in late fees, and your parking violations have made it impossible for you to ever drive a car in our province again. Have you cut that gypsy hair wrap our of your head yet? It's extremely unsanitary and scares almost ever person you talk to. Your best friends, aka the falafel man and Charlie (the dog of your favourite homeless man) send their regards. They found a tumour in Charlie's kidney, but it looks like his Doggie Health Care will cover the removal and potential chemotherapy treatment. Your Balkan family still prays daily for you to find a nice Croatian boyfriend to settle down with. Hopefully their rituals might slow down your hedonistic ways and stop you from travelling around the world like you're living in a hamster wheel. We hope your dream to be recruited by a world famous dance crew is on it's way to reality. Never give up on the 'pop lock and drop it.' That was your move...
