Well Good Moro to you all,
Inspector Norse. What comes to mind when you see this catchy stage name? Well for most people who call themselves music lovers it would be the killer track from the Norwegian DJ and music producer Todd Terje's It's the Arps EP. If you've ever wondered what it would be like to wear ruby red slippers while searching for the Wizard of Oz, then this is your track. It makes one feel like they are doing the wiggle robot with the Scarecrow and the Tin Man by their side. It immediately evokes toe taping, hip shaking and head bobbing. Its as contagious as HINI. Alright if you've already heard the tune do you know who Inspector Norse is? No it's not Inspector Morse, the fictional character from the detective novels written by Colin Dexter. It is the stage name of Marius Solem Johansen, a failed musician living in a small town in Norway. He likes to dance and do drugs. Todd Terje saw these wonderous videos and felt inspired to dedicate a track to him. Thus came the birth of his viral hit, Inspector Norse. So thank you Marius and thank you Todd.
More importantly check out this short film featuring Inspector Norse and a soundtrack of music by Todd Terje. Whateverest won a special jury award at the AFI fest in Hollywood. Its Los Angeles' longest running film festival and it features a surfeit of unconventional films. If you feel like your on the top of your Whateverest take a piece of Marius' pie and do what you dig. Maybe its drugs and dancing or maybe its scrap booking while reading Hemingway's "A Farewell to Arms," under a blanket of midnight stars. No one can rain on your parade if your on top of the highest whatever mountain.
