It's time to be inspired by the magical quirkiness of C2C. The French foursome have been making some seriously contagious tracks since the late 90's. The group features 20Syl and Greem, from Hocus Pocus, and Atom and Pfel from Beat Torrent. It's not their first rodeo in the fanatical turntable world and time and time again they prove their merit in this competitive, and quickly evolving, field. If you've every seen a friend learning how to perform music with turntables, or have ever dabbled yourself, you know first hand how incredibly complex it is. I admire C2C's abillities to coordinate the talents of four independant humans, with a wide range of skills, and simultaneously melt them into cohesive songs. I cannot even fathom the time and effort these strapping young lads have put into their craft. Well done sirs.
"Happy," the track featured below, not only makes me think twice about Sunday mass, but it inspires me with its procession of fancy footwork and frenzied body mechanics. I encourage you to mark the grassy fields of your neighbourhoods with the possession of a dancing spirit, because I would be wildly surprised if you could stay in your seat while watching this video. Take a page out of C2C's musical handbook and live up to being happy, while giving it a try. "This is a real song."
The latter of these two videos is a live performance of C2C on the Frech television show Taratata. If their track "Happy" wasn't good enough for you, prepare to be wowed by the beautiful mix of "Down the Road." It's a real toe tapper with an intrinsic beat, but before you watch this video prepare to fall in love. For C2C's ability to hit the right downbeats with their needily strokes is nothing to be messed with. Watching these boys perform is a refreshing look into a strong musical team, with members who seem to genuinely enjoy what they do. I give C2C, and their head bobbing skills, a very bright gold star beside their name and I encourage you to have a gander at their Frenchie fresh beats.
