Today we are showcasing some up-and-coming Canadian artists hailing from Guelph, Ontario. This is the first of a new series called Talent Spotlight: a monthly feature on fresh Canadian artists. So if you know anyone in need of some hyping, send the tracks to email@example.com.
First up on our Guelph Talent Spotlight is electro-folk-pop duo Mary Cassidy and Jon Lawless. This pair began collaborating on tracks last year, combining Jon's popsy electro beats with Mary's beautiful folksy voice. They are in the process of putting out an EP so in the meantime you can check out their soundcloud or catch them live at The Bleeding Carrot in Owen Sound on May 31st.
Our second feature on the Talent Spotlight showcases a band called Little Men. Formed in 2011 by Zach Cassidy, Ben Stier and Andrew Tigchelaar, Little Men has been compared to the Black Keys meets the White Stripes and has been featured on CBC Music. Check out their latest track "Think Again" featuring Mary Cassidy.
