Nick Murphy, aka Chet Faker, is an up-and-coming bearded maestro hailing from the land down under. Not only does this Melbourne native know how to throw down killer tracks (check out "I'm into you"), but he gets remixed by New York's finest Nicolas Jaar and his rendition of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" gets featured on a Superbowl commercial. This Aussie is killing it.
Check out this live session where Nick and the band record a beautiful stripped down cover of Burial's single "Archangel" in an old butter factory in Victoria, Australia. This tracks slow build and the passion in his rugged face gives me shivers every time - well done sir.
Enjoy and much love,
ps. all this talk about Australia is making me want a Tim Tam.
Song discovery credit goes to my good friend holls and her aussie friend.
