Freshness from The Basement Tapes. Happy Monday.
Time to get down with Cherub...They like to describe their music as a "fresh electrified take on risque pop that brings to mind timeless artists such as Prince or Zapp and Roger, and more contemporary artists like Pharell and The Dream." Get your dancey pants on it's Saturday!
RAC= Remix Artist Collective. The people behind that name admit they have no idea what the hell it means so don't hurt your brains thinking about it. Basically its a bunch of people putting a bunch of beats together. Many faces are behind RAC tracks but Andre Allen Anjos is known to be the main mixing man. Hailing from Portland, Oregon Andre had produced many groovy tracks to get your feet moving. The remixs of Joywave's "Tongues" (ft. Kopps) and Moullinex's "To be Clear" are personal favorites. Enjoy
They did it again! Our favorite Toronto-based Disco Duo, Natural Animal, released another feel good tune perfect for any summer time hang out. It’s guaranteed to get a few people rocking away with a little two step. “The Light” was a song that they wrote 2 years ago that once again just echoes what these guys stand for – Love for great music, great people, and most importantly great times. This is the third track on their EP “Who You Are” which I highly recommend you check out. Heck, if you’re in Toronto you should definitely catch one of their shows as they are regulars at Soho House and Wrongbar. Grab some friends, put on your dancing shoes, and head on over.

As if Daft Punk's latest release Random Access Memories isn't already the most highly anticipated album this year (however much that fact may upset Justin Timberlake) these sneaky little devils have decided to tantalize us a little bit more by releasing this stunning short teaser of them in a spacecraft opening RAM on vinyl and playing a few seconds of the new record. Visually, the video is just as immersive as the other short snippets and the official single (Get Lucky) that we’ve heard from the record. But honestly, Daft Punk just needs to release the record. I just can't wait any longer!!!! Random Access Memories is out May 21st on Columbia. GET HERE NOW!
Here’s another genre blurring post for all you music fans out there. This synch/happy/techno/party track "Madness" is from New York City’s HITS and if it doesn't make you want to go out to a dance-party-to-end-all-dance parties tonight, I don’t know what will.
Lead singer Louis Epstein (rocking a polka dot button down that will blast any Monday blues straight out the door) makes hitting all those rocking high notes look like no big deal, and let’s not forget guitarist Ben Vescovi who rocks sunglasses throughout the entire video. Not a single f**k was given by Ben that day. And yes, they might nearly be upstaged by the disturbingly chic actress Olga Zueva who plays the madness inducing muse, but somehow they manage to keep it together, and the music is never overshadowed. Mostly because the song is just that good. Check it out to see what I mean.
