When good friends come together with good tunes what do you get?... Even better tunes.. -Rayray
We've got more tropical house coming your way because too much of a good thing just doesn't exist in the Ladywood world. 18 years young, Italian producer Deep Chills threw a super fresh twist on the well known Bastille track 'Flaws.' Check it out kids. -Rayray
Coming back to Canada after 7 months of travelling, I've had a few thoughts. Other than the obvious revelation that Canada is cold, these are some of the things I will yearn for while nestled away in my Northern country.
1). Travelling means you always get to break bread and share every meal with friends. Every moment is spent enjoying your food, laughing, sharing, and making memories. That's such a special part of travelling we lose at home. It's the oddest thing to eat lunch in a hurray and without other people.
2). Travelling really forces you to live in the now. I forgot how much we look for the day to be done the week to be over or time to leech away living in the now. Travelling, you loose every bit of that because you want every day to last!
3). On the road you see vibrant colors and tacky surf shirts.. Yes please! Black is the most dominant visual around here. Such a funeral like change.
4). Home means no beach and cold temperatures. This means my feet are in socks and shoes at all times. I feel bad for my little toes because they are basically in prison. So they miss travelling too.
5). Being able to travel means I came from a fortunate place where I can save money and hit the road. Whatever is different about home it is still amazing because I can work, save and travel. My friends and I are truly blessed for this very reason. Thank you Canada!
Below is a video of Ladywood Music adventuring through Ecuador. We love this country to the moon and back. Thank you for the waves, the beaches, the animals and some of the best people we meet on our trip. In our souls and in our minds the memories from this beautiful country will stay forever.. Unless we get Alzheimer's then they'll be gone for good. Someone will have to tell us to come back to our website to watch the videos. Thank gosh for the inter web!
The songs featured below are some of our favourite Latino tracks. I'm not sure if they're our favorites because they're actually good, or we heard them so many times we were forced to like them. If you don't enjoy the tracks then you probably just need to play them like 200 more times. Enjoy.
Allday is a rapper based in Melbourne, Australia. He is a Fat Fuck Superstar and he eats 1000 packets of Skittles for breakfast. Or so he claims on his bandpage site. The Austrlian up and coming hip-hop ingenue is making waves on the indie scene for his hilarious
Today I took this completely accurate and scientifically sound quiz on Buzzfeed titled "What song should you play on repeat this weekend?". It gave me this little nugget of good fortune in the form of Father John Misty's latest release Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins). Sounding once again like the sweetest old man corn farmer in the middle of an acid trip, Father John Misty delivers a lyrically diverse but soniclly beautiful track. My favourite line you ask? I wanna take you in the kitchen, Lift up your wedding dress someone was probably murdered in. And just like that, Father John Misty brings me to my knees once again. -C
Formed in 2006 Moon Taxi is an affordable car pool option for people looking to get to the moon... Okay maybe I lied. It's an indie rock band from Nashville but a girl can dream right? Moon taxis should definitely be a thing. Until they create this glorious invention check out Moon Taxi's tracks on SoundCloud. The video below is lovely concert footage of the space boys via Yahoo! Live. Enjoy -Rayray
A little Rod Stewart and little Otis Redding, Scottish Soulster Paolo Nutini debuts this stripped down acoustic version of his track "Let me Down Easy". The song is about a break up, and Nutini begs for the partner leaving him to show some empathy out the door. “Let me down easy,” he sings. “Though your love for me is gone/ Let me down easy/ Since you feel to stay is wrong.” A well known sentiment I'm sure. Enjoy this track with a nice glass of whiskey, watered down by the tears of lost loves. Ohhh romance. -C

One of the most fascinating aspects of Napoleon Skywalker is how their live shows come together. Unlike any other band out there, before each show they spend countless hours creating a set to play for just one night. Exactly like a snowflake every one of their shows is totally unique and special to the energy in that moment. Knowing this little factoid then hitting a NapSky show would blow your mind. They boys look like instrumental geniuses with wisdom and intensity beyond their human years. You could never imagine they came up with a set to play one night, then have the power to let it go. I mean isn't music one of the hardest things to let go of. I don't know how they do it. Now NapSky has something new and exciting for everyone to feast their nostalgic paws on....A sweet recorded track! That's right friends have a listen to the remix by NapSky because they are vibing with their newest spawn in the family. It's a start to many good things coming your way so keep up with NapSky's music on SoundCloud. I hope they put you in the mood for a Saturday night groooooove. -Rayray
Ladywood is sending you heaps of tropical vibes with new tracks from Kygo and Autograf. I hope these songs float to your dream beach with a mojito in hand, or whichever diabetes preluding sugar cocktail you prefer . If you're on a beach right now, and most likely posting photos on Instagram, shut your face already. Your pictures are stupid... Except the one with the turtle... "I like turtles." -R
