These days 2/3's of the Ladywood ladies live in Brasil. This means we have a repertoire of hype tunes from international places. Here is a taste. One badass Brasilian babe rapping fire. Enjoy. -Rayray
Each new Jungle video is more complex and intense than the last. The dance moves are made from the dreams of mythical dancing creatures and the flow is always on point. I cannot get enough of their delicious tracks and vibey steps. Don't miss the beat. -Rayray
If Sade and Kaytranada had a love child it would be HAUTE, a Montreal-based duo made up of
It's that day you munch and munch because all you want is food and brunch.
You drank too much
and smoked too many
Now your bank is but one penny.
You want to move, you want to smile
But you feel like such a pile
Need a cure or some musical love?
Here's some tunes to give you the shove
I've got nothing but positive things to say about HNNY. This Swede has ample tracks to fill your ears with musical frenzy and up-beat lyrics . He recently caught up with NOISEY for an interview where he disclosed his love for the TV show, Gilmore Girls, and an hour-long soundtrack from the show. Check it below and if you humor me for the first two minutes of the mix you may hear the best line ever.
"Did you do something slutty?"
"Not that happy.."
I don't know why I've ever said anything different when enquiring about a friend's happiness. God I've been doing it all wrong. -R

Check out this sweet new track by debut artist Leland and the accompanying video which portrays probably the most adorable first date ever. Leland who's real name is Brett McLaughlin stars in the video along with his geriatric friends John Aprea and Susan Burnham. Leland explains that he met Aprea through Rufus Wainwright and Cherry Vanilla, while he randomly befriended Burnham after she struck up a conversation with him at a Rite-Aid. And thanks to the lotion aisle of Rite-Aid we now have this beautiful collaboration. “She ended up being hilarious,” Leland says, “and we talked in the office supplies aisle … for about forty-five minutes.”
Leland is currently working on his debut EP, and we can't wait to hear what else this genius will come up with. This might just be my ladywood track of the week. Is that a thing? It should be a thing. -C
Oh my god Kate Tempest. This woman is another example of the multiplicity of artists performing today. Like FKA Twigs and Childish Gambino. She's a slasher. A poet/rapper/spoken word performance artist/ playwright. A series of slashes when removed from each other, being just one, would make a successful person. But Tempest, in her confusingly adroit glory is all of these things. Her hip-hop music is lyrical and truthful and full of stories, and her poems and spoken word pieces are personal and gripping. I mean who even writes poetry anymore? It's a lost art of the ancients that seems obtuse and heavy in the age of twitter and hashtags. But Tempest's work is a little peak at the bleak beauty of life through her eyes. Please listen to her music, watch her Brand New Ancients spoken word and follow this incredibly original and challenging women and she continues to show us new and unimaginable things through her art. -C
Phoebe Ryan's cover of R.Kelly's Ignition is my current obsession. This track has me unceremoniously singing along every chance I get. I like Ryan's silky smooth vocals and excellent incorporation of the track "Do You..." by Miguel. The mixture brings me all sorts of joys and is a truly original track. Check out her other pop happy hit Mine as well. This Scandinavian songstress is making waves fresh and hot out the kitchen. -C
