Here's a beautiful little new release from Ladywood favourite Thomas Jack. It's featuring radio's current golden boy Robin Schulz ( I think I've heard Waaves 100000 times this week already) and is the seventh release from the tropical house ingenue. Check out the set list below and plug in for an hour or so of musical wonderment. It's a nice smooth mix with some new and old tracks mixed in. Our favourite? Track 5 with Embody- that kid will be making moves this year so watch out for him. Thanks for the tunes Thomas- you get our ladywood raging! -C
If post people had x-ray eyes what do you think they'd see in the mail? I'm sure it would be lots of lovely postcards like the one featured in the video, but I also think you'd see some creepy letters and a few doll heads. If you want to know the 21 things you'd be surprised you can send in the mail click here for the Buzzfeed link. I cannot believe I haven't tired all of these already! Im defnitely going to send number one on my next trip. Put the lime in the coconut. -Rayray
That mystical creature known as Fka twigs has reached a transcendent moment in her career achieved by very few pop stars, where anything she releases is treated as a mini event across the halls of the internet. Whenever she blesses us with a new video, it's a chance for us to gather round and watch an artist operating at the top of her game. Today is one of those days.
The 26-year-old Brit has released the video "Pendulum," one of the standout tracks off her breakthrough album, LP1. It's pure FKA twigs: a surreal—sometimes nightmarish—journey through the singer's often tortured psyche. Here, twigs, born Tahliah Barnett, is a prisoner of her own hair, tied up and writhing, struggling to break free. Or is she? See for yourself below. - From Nylon
Whether your weekend consists of eating Cheetos while watch Netflix, or expensive bottles of wine with your mistress, you have weekend particulars you like to get into. Jai Wolf's new 'Weekend' remix is a great soundtrack for those things that you only "want on the weekend." If you don't know what I'm talking about then take a listen. My weekend usually kicks off with all you can eat sushi restaurants; hoarding the leftovers in my pockets usually lasts me for a few days. The sunset picture is because I want sunsets every day; not just the weekends. Thank you. -Rayray
Don't miss out on these Daniela Andrade videos, because her chill notes will smooth out your mood. She just released a new cover of a 'Telegraph Ave/Sober' mash-up, by Childish Gambino, and her 'Crazy' cover is one of my favorites. Enjoy. -Rayray
Natural Animal are back with their 3rd song from their debut album, Our Love. I can't contain my happiness on this one, this is a gem. Our Love also marks the duo's first collaboration with Toronto/LA-based producer, musician, director and entrepreneur Byron Wong, who has worked with some of the greatest artists of our time including David Bowie, Kanye West, Beck, Ben Harper, Kendrick Lamar and The Crystal Method. The list goes on. Good vibes all over this one. Enjoy! -C
Yes my friends mahogany may be a wood but it's also one of the loveliest Youtube channels, featuring uniquely live performances by artists you know, and some you need to know. The videos below are some of my absolute favourites. I've been overcome with weepy emotion watching several of these videos so beware. You may ugly cry.
Young man Jacob Banks has some things to sing and all around shall listen. His recent video release with The Mahogany Sessions is an absolute stunning version of 'Say Something,' by A Great Big World. Between the natural indoor amplification, and his vocal rang, I could watch this video all day. Keep your eyes out for Mr.Banks because he's making moves. -Rayray
I don't think the average bear looks this coordinated when they're high, but here's to hoping. The new video for Childish Gambino means he's honing in on ladies of the night and he's using his moves. -R
If it's free and feels good I always say go for it. Unless it's used gum under a table; that's too shameful to feel good. XANDER is a mysterious DJ whose remix of Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud.' got me pumped. 20syl's remix was so good that I couldn't fathom I would enjoy another... But I did. So I hope you do too. If you don't enjoy the track then you must enjoy the picture featured with the SoundCloud file. DAMN that looks fun. -Rayray
